Web Services launch and ZDK end of life

Posted by Francesco in Announcement, March 27th, 2009

In February zanox launched the new zanox Web Services to help our publishers to monetize their innovative business ideas. To get an overview of our new zanox Web Services and what you can do with it, please have a look at the related post.

The new zanox Web Services allow you to access a full set of resources and to automate your interaction with the zanox system. This helps you to optimize the targeting of your customers thanks to the new and more evolved product search mechanisms.

Please note that, in order to concentrate all our resources on further developing our new Web Services, we will have to close down the old ZDK features within the first half of 2009.

This process will be executed in phases: The first phase will start on 15 April 2009 when we will switch off the methods with very limited usage in the last year. Click here to see the list of the deprecated methods.

Further information on the following phases will follow soon.

To help you with migrating to new zanox Web Services we are pleased to provide you with a migration scheme.

zanox Web Services launched: build revenue from your creativity

Posted by valerie.ponell in Announcement, February 3rd, 2009

Our Web Services team has worked really hard over the last couple of months and finally THE day has come: Today we launched the open beta of zanox Web Services! Some of you might be wondering what you can do with zanox Web Services and how you can benefit from the new features. So here you go: First of all zanox Web Services are an innovative solution for both, web developers and our professional publishers. Web Services offer you access to a wide variety of new functions within our affiliate network and our infrastructure. Have a look at our Web Services video to learn more:

With zanox Web Services, you will now benefit from three key advantages when it comes to monetising your business ideas: a new automated process for managing your interaction with zanox, specific targeting opportunities including product search, geo targeting and contextual product matching, and the freedom to create your own innovative monetising models such as mobile applications or widgets. If you want to learn more about Web Services in practice, have a look at our showcases.

The fully automated interaction process will save you a lot of time and effort in your daily work: A wide number of new functionalities allow customised statistics, programme applications, payments and most recent product data to be retrieved automatically several times per day. Your direct access to our infrastructure includes profiles, adspaces, programmes, products, admedia, reports, payment details and ready-to-use applications. You will also be able to specifically target your customers with our features such as product search, geo targeting and contextual product matching. And last but not least you are now free to use your own creativity to develop, distribute and monetise your own business model. This could be an internet or mobile application, widgets, gadgets or even video or in-game advertising. And by the way, our technology supports two Web Services APIs: SOAP API and RESTful API, which also supports XML and JSON.

Two of our German closed beta testers, the team Karsten Windfelder and Frank Schulze, already published a detailed review on their blog 100partnerprogramme.de. “It’s a pleasant development that more and and more affiliate networks offer Web Services. They allow useful applications to be developed, updating one’s website in real time and the external evaluation of statistics,” Frank writes. “For the open beta launch, zanox Web Services look really good.”   Read the full test review here (in German).

zanox GAP Campus hosted Monetization 2.0 Camp

Posted by Sebastian Wallroth in Announcement, Web Services Contest, July 23rd, 2008

Monetization 2.0 Camp

On July 12th the zanox GAP Campus was a busy place. More than 80 Web 2.0 insiders, entrepreneurs, developers, and visionaries and 7 zanoxees met to discuss a wide range of topics around the monetization of the Web 2.0. In 17 sessions as different things were discussed as Landing PagesConnecting Content & Commerce in Web 2.0, zanox Web Services, Inflight & Internet, ePayment, and Business models for Performance Marketing.

The event was organized as a Theme Camp; a derivative of the BarCamps. Monetization 2.0 served as the frame – the content was provided by the participants. The event started off with a keynote by Thomas Hessler, CEO zanox on How to monetize web 2.0 applications and win 1,000,000 EUR Venture Capital. After that the cruical moment came: the Monetization 2.0 Camp organiser Sebastian Wallroth, generously supported by Oliver Berger and Tobias Kaufmann, called for participation. Within 5 minutes all slots were booked – the wonder of BarCamps happened again.

The atmosphere of the Monetization 2.0 Camp was very open, innovative and inspirational. The zanox Open Space with free Wifi and an excellent catering supported this.

We would like to thank several companies from the Web 2.0 szene for the great support: nugg.add – predictive behavioral targeting, Institut für Industrielle Softwaretechniken, Mobizcorp, AdiCash, Spreefactory.de, TowerByte eG, BestSideStory, 1,000,000 EUR zanox Web Services Contest 2008, saftblog.de, puretea.de, deineschokolade.com, betreut.de, and MITTEeins.de.

The media coverage was controverse. In response to the podcast – Interview at the Monetization2.0Camp in Berlin by pixelsebi one denounced the product placement of the 1,000,000 EUR zanox Web Services Contest 2008. The Seonauten Blog on the other hand would have liked more participants and more detailed sessions. Die kleine Miss Waldfee loved the event and had particularly a warm thank you for the organizer. Christian Boris Schmidt was one of the presenters at the Monetization 2.0 Camp and gave a very positive feedback on the ecato blog. On fragr.de Björn Koblow blogged in detail about his experiences from the Monetization 2.0 Camp.
