Updates with live webcam pictures and weather data are automatically provided on the landing page.

In an example of ‘Joint Affiliate Marketing’, Opodo and earthTV.com have united their two services into one single affiliate programme in order to provide a stronger service to customers and affiliates.

As part of our “app of the week” series, we are going to introduce you to myCashbacky today.

Our “App of the week” blog series continues. This week we are happy to talk about a whole new kind of application, “People as a Service”, provided by humangrid.

What is humangrid: humangrid is an international, managed and paid crowdsourcing-platform. Over 10.000 so called Clickworkers are ready to work for you on demand.

This can be very useful in all cases that are hard to automate. One example is the creation and modification of content, especially free text, like, as one example, product descriptions.

The first service is already available as applications in the zanox Application Store.

“SEO text create” lets publishers ask the humangrid service to create unique, search engine optimized texts for use on your website. Publishers will need to explain briefly the topic and length of the text, which keywords you would like to have included, how often, and which language you would like the text to be in, as the service is international and all major european languages are supported.

A second upcoming service will be “Product description create” that will let advertisers and publishers create product descriptions. In this case users will just supply a web link to a product page and ask the Clickworkers to supply a new, unique product description for the product shown on that website. Also available in various lengths and languages the normal turnaround time will be only a few hours.

After already having received a bunch of great feedback on our andora mobile application, we decided to pick this one as our “app of the week” today. It should also be very useful for your Christmas activities.

Andora is an end user application for Google Android phones. It is the first mobile application in the zanox Application Store and helps people to check everywhere and in a few clicks the online price of products  and in addition offers the possibilty to recommend those products to friends using Twitter.

Andora thus enables any publisher to potentially convert their phonebook into happy customers.

This is the way it works: Scan the barcode of a real product with the camera of the phone and check if it is available in the zanox affiliate network. We got more than 60 million product offers in our database, so you have a good chance of finding it You can either buy the product online or recommend it via Twitter to your friends to receive a commission. It can be also used for price comparison and works best with books and office supplies. This app uses “Barcode Scanner” and “Twidroid” which you can download for free. Curious? The ‘App of the week’ blog series continues. This week we are going to give you more insight of the Joomla zanox plug in application.

We decided to talk about this to complete the topic of monetization of Blogs and CMS platforms.

What is Joomla: Joomla is a dynamic portal engine and Content management system. Like zanox they fully embrace themself in the concept of  “opening” their core business in order to let third parties offer services and plugins to their customers.

Last week we received a joomla plugin from an external developer.

The plugin uses a simple zanox product search using a Joomla article’s keywords and displays the result below or above the joomla article. The products are shown in a “carousel” widget using the JavaScript library “glow”.

To install it is really easy! You simply have to download the source code and install it into your Joomla CMS, insert your connectID (you will receive this automatically via email by zanox) and choose your sales region. The Plug in will then automatically display ads relevant to each article you write.

If instead of the full plugin you simply want to use simply Joomla JCollection component than you can use instead this application provided by the same developer.
