With an overwhelming event the 1 Mio EUR zanox Web Service Contest 2008 came to an end. More than 250 people met under the motto “Internet Republic Germany – entrepreneurs and politicians focus on the internet as a critical success factor” at the zanox GAP Campus. Andreas Thümmler, Corporate Finance Partners, handed over (symbolic) an 1 Mio Euro attaché case to contest winners representative Christian Sauer, Webtrekk.

“We will use the capital to make further improvements to our products, and in particular for the globalisation of our core product, Webtrekk Q3”, Webtrekk founder and Chief Executive Christian Sauer said.

ZANOX CEO Thomas Hessler announced a follower of the successful “1 Mio EUR zanox Web Service Contest 2008”, the “2 Mio $ zanox Application Store Contest”, that will be started at the Web 2.0 Expo in San Francisco, March 31 – April 3, 2009.

“After receiving so many impressive entries for our first contest last Autumn, zanox and our partners are keen to give start-ups a second opportunity to successfully monetize their business models with zanox Web Services,” said Thomas Hessler, CEO and founder of zanox. “With the current state of the worldwide economy, it’s become increasingly difficult for many of these companies to secure follow-up financing for their projects – this is where we would like to help.”

The ceremony event was also hosted by the leader of the German liberal Free Democratic Party, Guido Westerwelle, as a guest speaker.

On 24 March 2009 zanox, Corporate Finance Partners and Mountain Partners celebrate the zanox 1 Mio Euro Web Services Contest winner Webtrekk. The who-is-who of the German internet szene celebrates together with Guido Westerwelle, leader of the liberal Free Democratic Party of Germany (FDP), at the zanox GAP campus.

250 Guests from the German Online Szene are coming to the festive prize award and the following networking party. The event will be video-streamed to the web. The zanox Monetization 2.0 team of Mario Brockmann, Hoon Cho, Francesco Votta, and Sebastian Wallroth along with the zanox Web Services Team of Thomas Nicolai, Daniel Neubauer, Mira Gressard, Frank Ittermann, and Harro Harten giving a big thank to the zanox Marketing team of Uwe Bormann, Alexandra Lilienthal, and David Fauck for organising this great final event of the Berlin Web Week 2008.

Over the day the finalists of the 1,000,000 Euro zanox Web Services Contest 2008 presented to the jury consisting of the professionals Andreas Thümmler (Corporate Finance Partners) , Dr. Cornelius Boersch and Sebastian Kübler (Mountain Partners), and Thomas Hessler and Jens Hewald (zanox). At 8:30pm the exitingly awaited announcement of the winners was celebrated by the jury: japarking.com, servtag, and webtrekk.de got a big hand from the audience. Now they are heading close conversions with Corporate Fincance Partners and Mountain Partners.

Thanks to enough wine, soft drinks, and cocktails the faux pas with the beer – off 6 minutes after opening the bar – was not that big topic of conversation as the twitter wall suggests than Web 2.0 business and strategy and the cute soccer playing robots presented by the innovative team FUmanoids of the Free University Berlin.

Yesterday Benjamin Rohé visited us at the zanox GAP Campus. Representing beschenkmich.de he took the opportunity to meet the zanox Monetization team and the zanox Web Services team. Good luck to Benjamin for the presentation at the zanox Web Services Contest Finale 2008!

The participant will win the one million Euro zanox Web Services Contest, who provides the most promising business model. The busniness modell must not base on zanox completely – zanox has to be at least part of it. Not necessarily the one with the most commission will win – even the one with the lowest commission during the contest may have the most promising business model.

All participants have to show two things:

1. a business plan, and


2. a running application accessing zanox Web Services.

On Thursday, Seprember 4th members of the zanox Web Services und Monetization 2.0 teams met Till Vollmer from mindmeister.com, one of more than 100 attendees of the 1 Mio EUR zanox Web Services Contest. Us zanoxies were stunned by Till’s presentation of his idea for the the 1 Mio EUR zanox Web Services Contest. We were able to provide answers to Till ’s questions on the zanox business model for performance based affiliate marketing. The developers of the zanox Web Services Team were glad to get feedback on and inspirations for the zanox Web Service s that will shotly be launched in the Open Beta phase.

It was an inspiring and interesting meeting for all members on the zanox GAP Campus. The zanox Web Services Team foresees a great contest event and crosses their fingers for Till’s idea . Our Campus is open 24/7 and we are looking forward to seeing you very soon!
