New version of zanox MasterTag for advertisers

Today we released a new version of zanox MasterTag, the script container solution introduced in December 2010.

The zanox MasterTag enables advertisers to flexibly integrate various value-added services and applications into their shops and websites. Following one-time implementation on the advertiser’s website, the MasterTag acts as a container for solutions from zanox and selected external providers, such as web analytics tools or retargeting.

Advertisers can therefore react to market developments with much greater speed and exploit new business opportunities, as they are not required to make any further technical effort and are not bound to release cycles of their IT systems. So far, it has been possible to integrate all leading European retargeting providers via zanox MasterTag.

The most significant improvements to the zanox MasterTag include:

  • Advertisers have full transparency regarding the applications they use and their respective settings, which they can keep track of in the zanox User Interface.

  • Via the zanox Application Store, further applications can be selected, which zanox will then configure for the advertiser.

  • zanox has formed new alliances with even more retargeting providers that, with immediate effect, enable advertisers to cooperate with a wide selection of retargeting providers.

Retargeting enables targeted advertising to potential customers who have already visited an online shop, only to leave without making a purchase.  With attractive, tailor-made offers, these customers can be readdressed and motivated to buy.

New tool for end customer offers

Beginning immediately, our user interface offers a new tool for end customer deals. Whether you are an advertiser, agency or one of our publishers, this will provide you with improved functions and simplify tasks for both sides.

What’s different for advertisers?

For advertisers, there was previously a single promotions tool, through which publishers were informed about publisher deals and end customer deals. In the future, this tool will be split into two separate fields, in order to improve clarity:

  • NEW: “Incentives” for end customer deals, e.g. coupons, sales/ bargains, raffles and lotteries, free delivery, etc.

  • As before: “Promotion news” to announce publisher deals, such as, e.g. publisher races, new payment models, new ad media, etc.

With the new “incentives” tool, advertisers can provide their publishers with all relevant information regarding end customer deals in an improved, clearer form. Depending on the type of deal, it is also possible to transmit important additional information. Among others, this includes:

  • Suitable ad media for the respective offer, inclusive of tracking links

  • Requirements for the offer, e.g. minimum order value for the redemption of coupons or deals for new customers only etc.

  • Besides the end customer text, which will be precisely transferred into the ad spaces, it is also possible to transmit additional internal handling notes for the publishers

And that’s not all! There will soon also be a facility for providing end customer deals exclusively to selected publishers.

Advertisers will find the new tool in the “Ad media manager” field, under the menu item “Incentives”. To begin with, this will only be available in English; however, other languages will be released at the beginning of next year.

What’s in it for publishers:

Publishers can automatically retrieve end customer offers via an interface, filter them by category and incorporate them directly into ad spaces. In doing so, these offers can appear on the relevant ad spaces much more quickly.

You can access the data via our new publisher API. To use this, publishers need to create their API keys in http://apps.zanox.com. The format is XML, JSON or SOAP.

New “Mail to Partner” tool for advertisers

Good news for zanox advertisers: Today marks the launch of the open beta-phase of our new e-mail function for advertisers. This will make it much simpler to contact the publishers in your affiliate programme by e-mail, in order, for example, to draw attention to special deals, to new ad media or to amendments in terms and conditions.

What’s new?

  • Your mailings are archived and can be retrieved at any time. Up to 30 mailing processes can be managed comfortably within a list.

  • A status display will show you which step each mailing process has reached, e.g. whether it’s in processing, undergoing clearance, ready for dispatch, or already sent.

  • The possible content-amount per e-mail (number of characters) has been doubled.

  • An improved preview function displays the e-mail as it will be seen by the recipients.

  • Once complete, you receive reliable feedback regarding successful dispatch.

As before, the desired recipients may be precisely selected by means of various filter facilities, e.g. by the publishers’ application status, by groups or conditions-models. At the same time, we have completely revamped the user interface – it is now much easier to use and substantially quicker.

You will find the new e-mail function in your advertiser account under the menu item “New e-mail to partner (BETA)”. It will be available in English during the open beta-phase, but will soon also be provided in your local language. Until then, the existing e-mail function can be used in parallel.

Updated zanox Advertiser Statistics: get all post views at a glance

With today’s new release of our Advertiser Statistics, views and post views will be listed separately. This means, advertisers can now find out at a glance, how many views have been generated via our zanox True Post View Tracking, or TPV.

For advertisers, zanox True Post View opens up additional partnerships with zanox classified partners, international marketers and advertising networks. Post view creates high display reaches on a performance basis.

In addition, advertisers will receive a “Post View User Guide” from their personal zanox contact, containing information on all issues surrounding the post view subject, as well as tips for successful implementation.

Along with the zanox Application Store, we also launched our new single sign-on solution zanox Connect, which enables smooth and easy application integration. This process is similar to what you already know from platforms such as Facebook: Once logged-in, you can easily use an application via just one click.

Since the application offer in our store will grow steadily, we implemented a quality benchmark system: Our established zanox AdRank will show how the applications are performing and a star-ranking system as well as a comment function indicates the level of satisfaction from previous users.

Last but not least, launching our new Application Store also means entering phase two of our $2 Million zanox Application Store Contest!
