Only a few more days till the first Digital Marketing Exposition and Conference – dmexco – starts off in Cologne. The dmexco is Germany’s leading event for online marketing and digital trends and takes place on Wednesday and Thursday, 23 and 24 September, at the Cologne Exhibition Centre. Of course we’ll be there, so if you are going to be around, just stop by at our booth (F020 F028). Our theme this year is “open network” and that’s why we decided to turn our booth into a zanox Open Campus:  So it won’t be just us presenting our features and services, but also some of our most important Application Store partners showing you how they successfully monetised their business ideas.

And, last but not least, we have something to celebrate! The leading German Affiliate Marketing Portal 100partnerprogramme.de as well the trade magazine iBusiness have just awarded zanox with the title “Best Affiliate Network in Germany“. So it’s definitely worth stopping by in Cologne for a drink and some music during our booth party on Wednesday, 23 September, at 6:30 pm.

TechCrunch Europe just launched the Top 100 Index, a constantly updated index of the most innovative and highest-potential European tech companies. We were really proud to see that zanox made it among the TOP 10! “We think that our efforts in pushing forward on innovative developments within the affiliate marketing industry strongly contribute to the company’s progress, which is well reflected by the TechCrunch Europe Top 100 Index,” our CEO Thomas Hessler says. “With the zanox Application Store and the $2 Mio Application Store Contest we are tapping the creativity of our network’s collective intelligence: Benefiting everyone involved is what we consider as the key to success of any ambitious tech company.”

Compiled by TechCrunch Europe and the start-up success indicator YouNoodle, the index is focused on mobile and web companies and covers the broad Europe, Middle East and Africa region (EMEA). “We wanted to use a data-led approach to create a list which could start to throw up both the themes and the diversity of this rich marketplace,” Mike Butcher of TechCrunch Europe writes. “We hope the TechCrunch Europe Top 100 will help throw some light on the European companies that are generating strong, genuine progress.” You can also read more about the TechCrunch Europe Top 100 Index here.

Wow, 250 guests at zanox Gap Campus! Last night was one of the biggest events we have hosted at our Berlin Headquarters so far – and it was definitely one of the most exciting ones. The 1 Million zanox Web Services Contest Award Ceremony attracted the who-is-who of the German internet scene, start-up founders, investors and bloggers.  The evening was themed “Internet Republic Germany – entrepreneurs and politicians focus on the internet as a critical success factor” and also hosted the leader of the German liberal party, Guido Westerwelle, as a guest speaker. Starting at 6:30pm tonight, there will be the 1 Million zanox Web Services Contest Award Ceremony held at our zanox GAP Campus. For all of you who can’t be there, we will live-stream the event here on our blog. The evening will be themed “Internet Republic Germany – entrepreneurs and politicians focus on the internet as a critical success factor” and will also host the leader of the German liberal party, Guido Westerwelle, as a guest speaker. The live-stream will start at 6:30pm, the event kicks-off at 6:45pm. Celebrate and network together with the contest winner Webtrekk at the zanox GAP Campus live here:

For our non-German speakers: Please note that the event and the stream will be in German, so that might be a good opportunity to practise you German language skills

The readers of the popular webzine deutsche-startups.de and a professional jury consisting of journalists and internet experts appointed Lars Hinrichs of Xing.com to be the most important German internet entrepreneur – for now. Lars started his business networking platform in 2003 and went public in 2006. Congratulations to Hamburg from the zanox HQs!

No surprise to us and the zanox community, our CEO and co-founder Thomas Hessler, was also voted into the top ten and came in sixth in the overall ranking. In the category “Success” Thomas has even been ranked second by the jury.
