Greetings from IAB Forum Milano. I am here with the lovely Italian team and some French and Spanish co-workers. We can already look back on one busy and successful day at Fiera Milano City .
A lot of new and existing clients stopped by our booth to talk about the latest trends in affiliate marketing as well as the zanox Application Store.
Our booth has been a magnet for networking, even long after the official part of the show. Our Spanish intra-company exchange programme participant Javier did a great job serving German beer.
We are looking forward to more interesting and productive meetings today. Visit us at booth # 23 if you are in the neighborhood.

Yesterday the PlugandPlay Expo one of the key events in the Silicon Valley took place at the PlugandPlayTechCenter.
With more than 40 start-up pitches and over 60 venture capital companies the event was a great success. Ad Parlor, Wild Fire and Twiki were nominated the top 3 start-ups of the day. Hosting key notes from HP and Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, our CEO Thomas Hessler also gave a speech on the zanox Application Store.
Later zanox hosted a German-style Oktoberfest including German beer, sausages and pretzels. Expecting about 350 people yet over 500 people showed up.

With more than 450 exhibitors and 350 speakers, the sixth E-Commerce Convention in Paris is one of the leading e-commerce events in Europe and definitely the most important event in France. We are happy to be a Silver Sponsor and of course our French team is looking forward to seeing many new as well as well-known faces around. After two days of a great dmexco event in Cologne, the zanox team is happy and back in our Berlin headquarters. We had a great time – with interesting conversations, meetings, presentations and a lot of fun! We were glad to receive such positive feedback on our booth, the zanox Application Store and of course on our partners who presented themselves and their new tools on our Open Campus: artaxo and their solution SEOlytics, IntelliAd and their new Bid Management Tool, eprofessionals Brand Snapshot, Webtrekks Q3 Web Analytics, triboo with My Cashbacky, plistas RecommendationAds als well as our advertisers 1&1 und Fox Mobile Distribution.

Only a few more days till the first Digital Marketing Exposition and Conference – dmexco – starts off in Cologne. The dmexco is Germany’s leading event for online marketing and digital trends and takes place on Wednesday and Thursday, 23 and 24 September, at the Cologne Exhibition Centre. Of course we’ll be there, so if you are going to be around, just stop by at our booth (F020 F028). Our theme this year is “open network” and that’s why we decided to turn our booth into a zanox Open Campus:  So it won’t be just us presenting our features and services, but also some of our most important Application Store partners showing you how they successfully monetised their business ideas.

And, last but not least, we have something to celebrate! The leading German Affiliate Marketing Portal 100partnerprogramme.de as well the trade magazine iBusiness have just awarded zanox with the title “Best Affiliate Network in Germany“. So it’s definitely worth stopping by in Cologne for a drink and some music during our booth party on Wednesday, 23 September, at 6:30 pm.

As a European hub for start-up businesses, Berlin has made itself a name for hosting key events on entrepreneurship and venture capital. Yesterday, the Venture Lounge Berlin took place at the international congress center ICC and gave start-up founders, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists and business angels the opportunity to touch-base. Our co-founder and CFO Heiko Rauch had been invited to talk about the early days of zanox and how the three Berlin graduates managed to turn their start-up into a truly global player before selling their successful business in 2007. So there is a lot of knowledge our founders are happy to share with the next generation of entrepreneurs. That’s why Heiko is attending the medienwoche@IFA, the media week as a part of the Berlin-based consumer electronics show IFA. Today, he will speak on a panel on “Investors wanted: next generation entrepreneurship”. If you are around and interested, just drop by at the ICC today at 16:30.

One of our most important Advertisers, a beautiful woman – and three happy Publishers. Konstantin Matern, Sascha Bartels and Andreas Gabriel today received their prize for having won the Alice SEO Contest: a meet & greet with “Ms Alice” Vanessa Hessler. Just to avoid any confusion upfront: Vanessa is not the daughter or sister of our CEO Thomas Hessler, whereas some people around here might have hoped for that The Italian top model is the face of Alice, a leading German broadband provider. Now if that isn’t a great match with Alice’s tag line “The most beautiful connection” (“Die schönste Verbindung”). Well, we think the guys did pretty well, posing next to one of the world’s most beautiful women.

On Thursday, 27 August, the Berlin Google Technology User Group will have their next meeting at our zanox Campus. The focus of the event will be on Google Wave, the new open-source communication and collaboration tool. The agenda holds an introduction to Google Wave, a demo and also the opportunity to try and play with Wave. We will also give an overview of our zanox Web Services. Interested in attending? Last week, we officially opened our new zanox facilities in Milan with a little office warming event and guests from the Italian and international online marketing scene. TechCrunch is coming to Berlin! Tomorrow we’ll have Mike Butcher and his TechCrunch crowd over for a what everybody expects to be a great and exciting event at the zanox Campus in Berlin. “There is an amazing tech scene in Germany and we want to do our best to showcase this. That’s why we’re partnering with several local entities on the ground to really display the best of the German scene,” Mike writes. The afternoon will hold speakers and startup pitches, the evening will be a great opportunity for international networking. Hightlights are the panel discussion on “German innovation and Entrepreneurialism” as well as  the Startup Pitch Competition, which our zanox CEO Thomas Hessler will join as a member of the judging panel. Last night, almost a thousand people experienced the world premiere of our new zanox film “WE ARE… ZANOX!” during our fabulous zanox Summer Party in Berlin! And you guys are a great partycrowd! As our presenter Alfonso pointed out when he announced the film last, zanox parties are always loud and fun: The location, the club Spinder & Klatt right at the river Spree, was simply perfect, our BBQ was delicious and – most importantly – everybody was happy!

It is time again for ‘the best meet the best’: The zanox Global Alliance Summit 2009, the exclusive and international get-together of our top partners, just kicked-off in Berlin!

After the launch of our zanox Publisher Initiative last year, this year’s highlights provide our partners with insights into market trends as well as new zanox projects. Today’s conference at the zanox Campus in Berlin includes presentations and discussions on highly relevant topics such as the shift from CPM to CPA or the financial crisis as an opportunity for business growth. We will be also more than proud to officially announce the first zanox VIP Publishers and VIP Welcome Advertisers and to introduce everybody to the new zanox Application Store.

It’s time again for Echtzeit Berlin at our zanox Campus: The German start-ups network Deutsche Startups is once more organising Echtzeit Berlin, a get-together for young and successful start-up founders, business angels and investors. The upcoming edition of Echtzeit Berlin on Wednesday, 27 May 2009, will deal with the topic „Mobile“ and includes two expert speeches by Stefan Bielau of the mobile TV platform dailyme.tv and Clemens Kabel of IBB Beteiligungsgesellschaft. As usual, there’s a lot of time for networking afterwards. The last Echtzeit Berlin in February 2009 hosted more than 170 guests.
