We are really proud to announce today’s Open Beta launch of our new zanox Application Store, the world’s first application store for the affiliate marketing industry! Starting now, you can explore the zanox Application Store and discover new and powerful tools for your business: As one of our publishers or advertisers, you will be able to discover ready-to-use applications, widgets and software services. As a developer, you can now monetise your innovations and distribute your applications directly to our network of more than one million publishers and over 2,000 international advertisers.

Along with the zanox Application Store, we also launched our new single sign-on solution zanox Connect, which enables smooth and easy application integration. This process is similar to what you already know from platforms such as Facebook: Once logged-in, you can easily use an application via just one click.

Since the application offer in our store will grow steadily, we implemented a quality benchmark system: Our established zanox AdRank will show how the applications are performing and a star-ranking system as well as a comment function indicates the level of satisfaction from previous users.

Last but not least, launching our new Application Store also means entering phase two of our $2 Million zanox Application Store Contest! Two of our German pre-testers, the team Karsten Windfelder and Frank Schulze, already published a detailed review on their blog 100partnerprogramme.de. “The zanox Application Store as a market place for developers, affiliates and merchants is simply ingenious – and I really wonder why nobody has come up with this idea before. Wow, 250 guests at zanox Gap Campus! Last night was one of the biggest events we have hosted at our Berlin Headquarters so far – and it was definitely one of the most exciting ones. The 1 Million zanox Web Services Contest Award Ceremony attracted the who-is-who of the German internet scene, start-up founders, investors and bloggers.  The evening was themed “Internet Republic Germany – entrepreneurs and politicians focus on the internet as a critical success factor” and also hosted the leader of the German liberal party, Guido Westerwelle, as a guest speaker. Starting at 6:30pm tonight, there will be the 1 Million zanox Web Services Contest Award Ceremony held at our zanox GAP Campus. For all of you who can’t be there, we will live-stream the event here on our blog. The evening will be themed “Internet Republic Germany – entrepreneurs and politicians focus on the internet as a critical success factor” and will also host the leader of the German liberal party, Guido Westerwelle, as a guest speaker. The GSMA Mobile World Congress in Barcelona is one of the most inportant events for the global mobile industry. We were keen to learn what the latest trends are and what industry expert think. And as expected, they all agreed on one key direction: The internet turns mobile! This is mostly due to the iPhone’s great success and how its technology changed the mobile internet world and its overall concept. Following the iPhone App Store’s best practise, companies such as blackberry, Nokia, Google Android, O2 or Microsoft announced their own coming-soon versions of an application store during the congress.  Another outcome of the Barcelona event was that the industry finally recognised the power of openAPIs and is more than keen on using it as a basis for third-party developments of the global development community.

We believe that the mobile marketing potential will massively grow in importance and volume in the very near future. There are more than three billion mobile phones all around the world already and the number will increase even more, that’s for sure. Together with most advanced mobile phones also the applications and the features provided are increasing.  For the first time, more advanced features are permitting to integrate pure web based applications with the mobile world allowing value added services not imaginable before. We are now really active in finding mobile internet monetisation opportunities using for example our Web Services infrastructure and some new great project we are currently working on.

Our Web Services team has worked really hard over the last couple of months and finally THE day has come: Today we launched the open beta of zanox Web Services! On 24th October 2008 the zanox GAP Campus hosted another great event: the zanox Web Services Contest Finale – Night of Innovations 2008.

More than 200 people – contest participants and supporters, investors, online marketers, web 2.0 fans and zanoxees – excitingly awaited the announcement of the winners. Servtag, Webtrekk and triboo were the lucky ones!

In a relaxed atmosphere people talked not only about the 3 winning teams but enjoyed drinks and snacks along with the ‘RoboCup’, a live soccer performance by Freie Universität robots.

The Berlin Web Week is approaching quickly. It kicks off tonight with the Pre-Web 2.0 Expo Europe Drinkup at QBA.

zanox will take actively part in the Berlin Web Week to strengthen Berlin’s postition as the Start-up and innovation center in Europe; including a booth at Web 2.0 Expo Europe and sponsorships of the leading networking events like BarCamp Berlin 3 and LateCrunch.

Additionally we will host the Facebook Garage at our GAP Campus on 20. October 2008 and the zanox Web Services Contest Finale – Night of Innovations 2008 on 24. October 2008.

Another great evening in Berlin’s up-and-coming Web 2.0 scene took place on 11. June 2008. At the atrium of Dom Aquaree in Berlin Mitte more than 300 people discussed partnerships and synergies, and made promising contacts. In this high concentration of CEOs, CTOs, COOs, CIOs, VPs, entrepreneurs, and investors zanox’s 1,000,000 EUR Web Services Contest 2008 gain a lot of interest and attention.

Last Wednesday we opened our brand new zanox GAP Campus with a little celebration.

We started off with the stream of the panel discussion about “Monetisation 2.0 by zanox Web Services“.

After Heiko and Jens cut the cake, customers, publishers, developers, employees and friends of zanox enjoyed cold drinks, food and music at the Campus.
